You will need to choose a suitable moustache trimmer if you want to look neat and well-groomed, whether you are headed for work or an evening out. You need to keep your moustache and your beard clean, and you can use a conditioner on your beard to keep the hair from becoming quite as coarse as it may otherwise be. Beard trimming is an important part of your daily hygiene routine, so it's worthwhile to purchase professional trimmers and scissors to show off a good and even cut.

Beard and moustache trimmers come in many price ranges, but its money well-spent if you purchase a cordless model, so you can trim on the go. Ensure that you also have a well-lit mirror, or a magnifying mirror to help you with any spots that are difficult for you to get to. Keep your neck clean-shaven, so you maintain a professional appearance.

When you are growing a moustache and beard, the moustache will probably be full before your beard is. The beard may itch as it grows, so shampoo it often, and don't let the skin under your beard or moustache dry out. Once you have grown in as much as you think looks good, have a barber trim it once, just to give you a good guideline of how it should look. He can set the pattern for you, and provide the length and the lines of your beard hairs. Then you can try your best to copy the way he did your beard and moustache when you trim them yourself at home, with your own hair clipper or moustache trimmer.

Once you have grown in your moustache and beard, there are some steps that can help maintain them. You will probably want to shampoo your moustache and beard every day. After a shower, dry your beard with a towel, and comb through it. For best results, use a comb with large teeth.

After your beard and moustache are dry, you will trim them, using a groomsman or similar clippers. Be sure not to trim either one when the hair is wet - you might trim too much off, since your beard is more naturally relaxed when it's wet. Use a quality moustache trimmer, and then a good beard trimmer on your beard. Trim just a little at each clip, and make sure it looks the same on both sides.

Follow the lines of your lip to trim your moustache, using a moustache beard trimmer. Ensure that the hair does not grow higher than your upper lip, as this makes it appear unkempt. The moustache can be trimmed starting at the center, and going towards each edge. When you comb your moustache, use a comb with small teeth. Make sure that there aren't any stray hairs left on your face when you're done trimming.

If you keep a moustache grooming kit handy with you when you travel, you can always have that well-groomed look. Don't forget to take an extra few minutes with your moustache trimmer, so you will always look your best, at work or wherever you go.
